What happens when the fastest growing progressive disease in the world (COPD) hits the baby boomers? The fact is, it already has. Today, 24 million Americans have COPD. One-half of you–12 million–don’t know it. Like most people, I had never heard of it. I was diagnosed at age 57. Luckily, I was in the early stages of the disease; even so, my lungs were irreversibly damaged. Lucky for me, I was an athlete.
